Title: Soft Hard
Comment: A ballet dancer from Swan Lake is dancing in front of an vintage wallpaper. A curtain made out of black feathers is falling over the scene.
During the Soviet Union the television programm was controlled by the communistic leaders. And whenever something „bad“ happend (Chruschtschow’s death, the August Putsch 1991…) all the TV channels interrupted their programm and showed a record of the Swan Lake ballet instead. The dancer on the wallpaper illustrates how the TVs projected the sorrows of the regime into the living rooms of the people. They knew something troubeling had happend which was about to hit their life – just like the falling curtain is about to hit the scene.
